BERNARDSTON, Massachusetts (media) – It all started on a quiet Monday morning when a 14-year-old, who was experiencing a mental health crisis, took off in a family member’s car in Hinsdale, New Hampshire.
Around 7:00 a.m., as local police tried to step in and help the teen, the young driver suddenly sped away, heading straight for the Vermont border.
Before long, the teen was in Brattleboro, Vermont. There, the car charged right through road barriers, hit a police cruiser, and nearly struck a few officers who were trying to stop it. It seemed like nothing could slow this chase down.
The pursuit finally came to an end in Bernardston, Massachusetts. Police in that town quickly jumped into action, laying down spike strips on the road.
That forced the teen to stop, and officers boxed the car in. Thankfully, the teenager was taken into protective custody without anyone getting hurt.
However, the area near Kingle Candle was left with serious damage as a reminder of this unexpected, high-speed morning drama.
