A 34-year-old man, Rodarrius Jermaine Colvin, was arrested in Jefferson County, Alabama, on drug trafficking charges following a brief foot pursuit on March 5, 2025. The arrest came after narcotics detectives executed search warrants at two locations: the 2900 block of Avenue Z and the 1000 block of Huffman Road.
During the search, detectives seized a significant amount of narcotics, firearms, cash, and other items linked to drug trafficking. The items recovered included:
- Narcotics: 153 grams of methamphetamine, 52 grams of fentanyl, 2 grams of heroin, and 38 grams of a fentanyl/methamphetamine compound.
- Weapons: Two Glock 30 .45 pistols, one Smith & Wesson SDVE 9mm, two American Tactical 5.56 caliber AR-15 pistols, and a .22 Derringer.
- Cash: $17,682 in cash.
Colvin was taken into custody and is facing charges of two counts of drug trafficking and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $1,010,000.
Sheriff Mark Pettway praised the efforts of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in taking dangerous drugs and weapons off the streets. “This was another good day. No one was injured,” he said, emphasizing the department’s commitment to community safety.
