Former UFC champion B.J. Penn has sent shockwaves through the MMA community with an explosive claim—he believes the government murdered his mother and replaced her with an imposter.
Penn, a two-division UFC champion and Hall of Famer, is no stranger to controversy. His dominance in the octagon, from winning titles in both lightweight and welterweight divisions to being the first non-Brazilian to win the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship at black belt, solidified his legacy. However, his post-fighting career has been marred by legal troubles, including a 2015 assault arrest and a restraining order filed against him in 2019. His gubernatorial run in Hawaii in 2022 further cemented his polarizing presence, as he campaigned against COVID-19 mandates and pledged to restore personal freedoms.
But Penn’s latest claims have taken a dark turn. In a disturbing social media video, he insists that the woman currently living in his house is not his real mother, Lorraine Shin. Instead, he alleges she is a look-alike planted to deceive him.
“This lady right here, look at her legs. She is acting like my 79-year-old mother, but she is NOT my mother. It’s interesting when you Google ‘Lorraine Abile,’ our house pops up. She’s trying to steal everything. She’s saying she’ll get an attorney and try to throw me out. If I do anything, she’ll use a TRO (temporary restraining order) against me,” Penn declared.
The MMA world is deeply concerned. Many fear that Penn may be battling Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain condition linked to repeated head trauma. Symptoms of CTE include paranoia, memory loss, and erratic behavior—raising questions about Penn’s mental well-being.
Is Penn exposing a shocking conspiracy, or is this a tragic case of a fighter suffering from long-term brain damage? Fans are left to wonder: is there more to this story than meets the eye?
