South Shore, Chicago – A man accused of a brutal triple shooting in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood has been arrested in Georgia. Ricardo Gonzalez, 32, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal Service on Thursday in Cobb County.
The horrific crime unfolded in the early hours of January 28, when Gonzalez allegedly kidnapped three women before shooting them in an alley between the 7800 blocks of South Crandon Avenue and South Oglesby Avenue. Two of the victims were fatally shot, while the third was critically injured and rushed to the hospital.
Authorities launched an extensive manhunt for Gonzalez, leading to his capture nearly two months later. He now faces serious charges, including kidnapping, two counts of murder, and one count of attempted murder.
Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed further details about a possible motive or Gonzalez’s connection to the victims. However, this arrest marks a significant step toward justice for the victims and their families.
