Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles’ star, had some funny and honest things to say about facing off against his little brother, Travis Kelce, in the NFL. While fans loved the excitement of the “Kelce Bowl,” Jason admitted he didn’t always enjoy competing against his sibling.
During the Nov. 25 episode of ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown,” Jason, 37, shared with co-host Scott Van Pelt that playing against Travis and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was more frustrating than fun. He laughed and said, “It’s annoying is what it is.” Why? Because Travis and the Chiefs were just too good, making it tough for Jason and the Eagles to win. “They’re very good,” Jason explained. “I was only fortunate to beat Trav once.”
That one win for Jason and the Eagles came in November 2023, a game that happened just months before Jason announced his retirement from football. But despite the competition, Jason still has fond memories of playing with and against his little brother. “When you’re out there on the field and you see your brother, you get these flashbacks to when you were kids playing football in the backyard,” he said.
Jason’s reflections on his career came just after he and his wife, Kylie, shared the news that they’re expecting their fourth daughter. They already have three girls—Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 21 months. Kylie, who’s pregnant again, jokingly mentioned on Instagram that the family is “on the same page” about the new baby, and it seems the girls are excited to welcome another sister into the family.
For Jason, though, it’s clear that family is everything—whether it’s playing football with his brother or preparing for another addition to his growing family.
