Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have decided to go their separate ways, hitting pause on their relationship after about a year together.
“They’re both young and really focused on their careers, so they’ve chosen to take a break for now,” an insider shares.
The two first sparked romance rumors back in December 2023 when they were spotted enjoying dinner together in Los Angeles. But their story actually began a few months earlier at Paris Fashion Week, where they both attended a Givenchy show. That chance meeting led to a relationship that saw them supporting each other on and off the spotlight.
Barry, known for his Oscar-nominated performances, was often seen cheering Sabrina on. He was in the crowd during her Coachella set this past April and even made a cameo in her “Please Please Please” music video in June. Sabrina later shared how he landed the role: “I was looking for the best actor I could find, and, well, he was sitting right next to me,” she joked during an October interview.
The admiration was mutual. Barry gushed about Sabrina after her six Grammy nominations for the 2025 awards, including a Song of the Year nod for “Please Please Please.” While appearing on The Jess Cagle Show, he beamed, “She’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. No one works harder, and I’m constantly in awe of her drive and vision.”
