Tragedy Strikes: Beloved Disney Influencer Dies After Allergic Reaction at LA Holiday Event

Share news:

A beloved Disney theme park influencer tragically passed away after suffering a severe allergic reaction during a holiday event in Los Angeles. Dominique Brown, a 34-year-old content creator from Long Beach, California, was attending a food event hosted by pop culture retailer BoxLunch on December 5 when the heartbreaking incident occurred.

According to reports, Dominique unknowingly ate something containing an ingredient she was allergic to. Those at the event shared that she immediately started feeling unwell. A social media user on X, who claimed to know her personally, wrote that Dominique had asked if the food contained peanuts and was told it did not. Despite her precautions, the allergic reaction happened quickly.

Witnesses said Dominique received CPR at the event, and 911 was called right away. Sadly, she didn’t make it. BoxLunch released a statement expressing their grief: “We are devastated by the passing of Dominique Brown, a beloved member of the BoxLunch Collective. Our hearts go out to her family and friends, and we will do everything we can to support them during this painful time.”

Dominique’s brother, Patrick Ramos, opened up about her death in the comments of her final Instagram post. In that post, Dominique was her usual cheerful self, wearing a Winnie the Pooh-themed sweater inside a Disney store. Patrick wrote, “Disney brought her so much joy, but what truly made her happy was finding a community who loved Disney as much as she did. I will miss my sister and best friend, and that infectious smile she always had.”

Dominique was well-known in the Disney fan community, not just for her fun content about new rides and events, but also for her efforts to make the space more inclusive. She co-created BlackGirlDisney with her friend Mia Von, aiming to encourage more women of color to share their Disney love.

This devastating loss brings to mind another tragic incident involving a food allergy at Disney Springs last year. NYU Langone doctor Kanokporn Tangsuan passed away after eating at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant. Despite repeatedly informing staff about her nut and dairy allergies, her meal allegedly triggered a fatal reaction. Her husband later filed a lawsuit.

Dominique’s passing has left her family, friends, and followers heartbroken. Her joyful spirit and passion for sharing the magic of Disney will be deeply missed.
