A 28-year-old man was tragically shot and killed just steps from his Brooklyn home, police shared on Tuesday.
The victim, Jumaane Williams, was gunned down on Monday afternoon at around 4:05 p.m. on E. 32nd Street near Tilden Avenue in East Flatbush, a quiet residential area.
According to investigators, Williams was shot in the head and sadly didn’t survive. He passed away right there at the scene, just a block from where he lived. Police found two .380-caliber handguns and five shell casings nearby, but the two men involved in the shooting managed to escape and are now being sought.
Witnesses described one of the suspects as wearing a black hoodie and black pants, while the other was dressed in a gray hoodie and black pants. Detectives are working to track them down.
Just hours later, another violent incident rocked Brooklyn. On Tuesday morning, at around 10:20 a.m., a 26-year-old man was stabbed in the chest outside the Olgam Life Plasma Donation Center on Flatbush Avenue near Avenue H in Flatbush.
Emergency crews rushed the stabbing victim to Kings County Hospital, but doctors couldn’t save him. So far, no arrests have been made in this case either, and police don’t believe the two killings are connected.
Both incidents have left the community on edge as residents hope for justice and answers. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward to help solve these tragic cases.
