A woman and a teenage girl had a scary experience on Wednesday night when someone shot at their car on Bent Creek Way in southwest Atlanta. Thankfully, their injuries were minor, but the incident has left police searching for answers.
It all happened around 8:34 p.m. near 1999 Bent Creek Way SW. According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers rushed to the scene after getting reports of gunfire.
When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl with cuts on their faces. The injuries weren’t from bullets but from shattered glass after the car’s windows were hit.
Despite the ordeal, both the woman and the girl were alert and able to talk. Medical workers treated them on the spot, and they didn’t need to go to the hospital.
Police say the two were inside their car when someone opened fire, breaking the windows and causing the injuries. The person who fired the shots took off before officers arrived, and investigators are now trying to piece together what happened and why.
The Atlanta Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit is working hard to figure out the details and catch the person responsible.
