In a deeply disturbing incident in Mableton, Georgia, a 26-year-old man has been accused of brutally attacking and raping a 74-year-old woman in her own home while her 5-year-old granddaughter witnessed the horrific assault.
Ahmad Laureik Rucker, the suspect, is now facing a dozen serious charges, including rape, multiple counts of battery, and cruelty to children. According to the arrest warrant, the attack happened on Friday, December 13, around 4 p.m.
Police say Rucker entered the woman’s Cobb County home without permission, intending to commit crimes including elder abuse, rape, and aggravated battery. Once inside, he allegedly broke the victim’s left shoulder, repeatedly struck her face—leaving her with a broken nose, bruised eyes, and a swollen lip—and then sexually assaulted her.
What makes the attack even more heartbreaking is that the victim’s young granddaughter was present during the entire ordeal, witnessing the unthinkable violence.
Rucker has been charged with a string of offenses, including rape, aggravated battery against a person over 65, aggravated sodomy, exploiting an elderly or disabled person, false imprisonment, cruelty to children, and burglary.
