In Las Vegas, Nevada, a woman who admitted to charges of child abuse and endangerment has been sentenced by a judge in Clark County District Court.
The case goes back to 2022, when authorities uncovered a troubling situation involving a teenager who had been locked in a room for more than a year. The young girl eventually managed to escape and contact the police, revealing the ordeal she had endured.
When investigators arrived at the scene, they found a Hispanic woman trying to climb into an upstairs bedroom using a ladder. This discovery led to the arrest of three individuals: Addy Gonzales, Maria Pasarin, and Daniel Omezcua. They were charged with false imprisonment and child abuse.
On December 18, 2024, all three were sentenced for their roles in the case. Gonzales received a prison sentence of approximately 9 to 23 years in Nevada State Prison. Meanwhile, Pasarin and Omezcua were given suspended sentences and placed on probation.
The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting the importance of vigilance and the role of law enforcement in uncovering and addressing such serious situations.
