In Mankato, Minnesota, police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.
The tragic incident unfolded when officers were called to the 100 block of Grove Street around 3:15 a.m. They had received a report about a man who had been shot. When police arrived, they discovered the victim inside a vehicle, but sadly, he was already deceased. Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity.
Investigators believe the shooting actually took place a few blocks away on East Walnut Street, specifically in the 500 block. Later that same day, officers executed a search warrant at a home on East Walnut Street. This search led to the arrest of the 18-year-old suspect.
Police have requested that the suspect face charges of second-degree murder, but the investigation is still ongoing.
