Hannah Kobayashi, a 31-year-old Hawaiian lady, has disappeared under suspicious circumstances while on a “bucket list” vacation in New York City. Kobayashi’s family is deeply worried after receiving unsettling text messages from her during her journey.
Kobayashi departed from Maui on November 8, 2024, with plans to visit her aunt in New York. She was scheduled to make a connecting flight in Los Angeles but failed to board the plane. Subsequent communications with her family became sporadic and troubling.
In a text message to a friend, Kobayashi stated that she had been “tricked into pretty much giving away all my funds” and mentioned someone she “thought I loved.” These messages have heightened concerns about her well-being.
Surveillance footage confirmed that Kobayashi arrived at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) but did not board her connecting flight. Her phone’s last known location was at LAX on November 11, after which it has been unreachable.
Family members have filed a missing persons report with the Los Angeles Police Department and are urging anyone with information to come forward. They describe Kobayashi as responsible and express that her disappearance is out of character.
Authorities are actively investigating the case, focusing on her activities and communications during her time in Los Angeles. The family continues to hope for her safe return and is appealing to the public for assistance.
