Biden’s Struggles and Why Inflation Isn’t Trump’s Fault: A Fresh Perspective

Share news:

The world seems to be spiraling out of control, and some believe President Biden’s actions are partly to blame. According to Jonathan Sweet and Mark Toth from The Hill, the chaos we’re seeing today, from wars in Ukraine and Israel to tensions in Taiwan and the Philippines, stems from the “permissive environment” Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan created. They argue that America needs to return to a position of strength, much like when Trump’s tough stance sent a clear message to Iran and Syria. The call for “maximum pressure” is louder than ever, as some feel Biden’s approach has only fueled adversaries.

Inflation Blame Game: Not Just Trump’s Fault

The Federal Reserve is under fire as it looks for someone to blame for the high inflation we’re dealing with. Kevin Warsh, former Fed board member, says we need to face the real issue: too much government spending and too much money printing. While some point fingers at Trump’s tariffs, Warsh believes that the bigger problem is the mess inherited by the former president. Inflation is still too high, but Warsh suggests that Trump’s agenda of deregulation and spending cuts may actually have a positive disinflationary effect. It’s time for the Fed to take responsibility and focus on a smaller, more effective system for a brighter future.

Newsom’s Smart Move on Deregulation

California Governor Gavin Newsom is getting praise from Reason’s Steven Greenhut for his decision to bypass government regulations in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires. While it’s good for those rebuilding their homes, Greenhut wonders why this approach isn’t applied more broadly. If regulations can be relaxed in an emergency, why not do so all the time? California’s current laws make it too hard to develop anything, especially with entities like the California Coastal Commission having excessive control. Newsom’s COVID-era regulatory changes showed that cutting red tape can boost commerce and individual freedom. Maybe it’s time to rethink these regulations for good.

UN Special Envoy Faces Backlash for Antisemitic Views

Francesca Albanese, the UN’s special envoy to the Palestinian territories, has drawn heavy criticism for her past remarks and support for controversial positions. Commentary’s Seth Mandel doesn’t hold back, calling her a “figure of rare menace and depravity.” Albanese has been accused of making antisemitic comments, supporting Hamas, and pushing for a refugee status policy that could potentially harm the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The fact that the UN is funded largely by the U.S. adds fuel to the fire, as many argue America is indirectly supporting these harmful views.

Restoring Justice for a Safer America

Heather Mac Donald, writing for City Journal, argues that to restore public safety, the focus needs to shift back to crime and illegal immigration. Under Biden, the Justice Department has prioritized identity politics, but this has resulted in a lack of effective policing and prosecution, leaving communities unsafe. Trump’s team, according to Mac Donald, should focus on merit and excellence, not race, in its appointments. By sticking to colorblind justice, restoring law and order, and enforcing immigration laws, the country could return to a safer and more just society.
