In a bizarre and unsettling twist, Miles Harford, the former owner of Apollo Funeral and Cremation Services in Littleton, Colorado, is now facing even more serious charges. This comes after he was accused of keeping a body in a hearse for more than a year.
Initially, Harford was arrested in February 2024 on charges related to abuse of a corpse and theft. However, things have taken a darker turn. New reports claim that Harford is now facing two felony charges for allegedly hacking into a former employer’s business account to pay a Verizon bill. These incidents reportedly took place between July 6 and July 9, 2024.
The original charges were filed in Denver, but these new allegations come from Littleton, the very place where Apollo Funeral and Cremation Services once operated. As of now, the Littleton Police Department has not provided any updates.
But this isn’t the first time Harford has made headlines. Authorities recently revealed shocking details about the remains found at a home where Harford had been renting. Among the discoveries were the remains of a 63-year-old woman, whose body had been stored in a hearse since August 2022. Investigators also found the cremated remains of dozens of other people, some of whom had been deceased for several years.
For many of the families involved, this news was a devastating blow. Some had believed they were receiving the cremated remains of their loved ones, only to learn that they had received someone else’s remains instead. As Denver Police Commander Matt Clark explained, many of these families are now left reeling from the unexpected revelation.
In a previous statement, Clark also mentioned that Harford’s funeral business had been struggling financially, which might explain why he failed to complete certain cremations. It appears that, at times, Harford provided families with someone else’s cremated remains just so the funeral services could proceed.
Since Apollo Funeral Services closed its doors in September 2022, this troubling case continues to unfold, leaving many questions unanswered. As investigators work to identify all the remains found at Harford’s former home, it’s clear that this story is far from over.
