Sugar’s Bold Take on Musk and Trump: Is the Billionaire Duo Really a Winning Team?

Share news:

Lord Sugar has a lot to say about the idea of Elon Musk teaming up with Donald Trump. To put it simply, he doesn’t think it will work out too well.

In recent months, Musk and Trump have become pretty close. The tech billionaire was even tapped to co-lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency under Trump’s upcoming administration. To make things even more interesting, Musk’s got office space waiting for him right next to the White House in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. So, it seems like he’s going to be around Trump a lot in the coming years.

But not everyone is convinced this partnership is a winning combo. Many are wondering: Who’s really calling the shots here?

Lord Sugar, known for his no-nonsense style, isn’t optimistic about Musk’s chances. He made it clear in a recent interview with The Times, saying, “Let him try and do it.” He’s no stranger to dealing with government inefficiency himself, but even Sugar admits that Musk’s challenge is on a whole new level.

“Back when I tried to identify inefficiency in government, all I got was aggravation,” Sugar shared. “I couldn’t change anything. There were too many people saying, ‘Oh no, you can’t do that.’ But what Musk’s facing in America is something else entirely.”

Sugar believes Musk is all talk and not enough action. “He’s brilliant, no doubt about it, but sometimes he just shoots his mouth off. He’s going to get a bloody nose,” Sugar warns. And while Musk might be cozying up to Trump now, Sugar predicts that after the inauguration, Trump will want to make it clear: he’s the one in charge.

Musk has supported Trump financially, donating millions to his election campaign, and he’s been seen at several meetings with the president-elect. But behind closed doors, there are whispers that Trump might not be thrilled with Musk’s constant presence.

New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman recently revealed on a podcast that Trump’s complaints about Musk are becoming a bit of a talking point. “Musk’s everywhere around Trump, and it makes things more complicated,” Haberman said.

Interestingly, Sugar’s comments came just after actress Cameron Diaz poked fun at Trump during a podcast appearance. When asked about her favorite conspiracy theory, Diaz jokingly claimed, “We’re all moving to Mars because now Elon Musk is our president.” Co-star Jamie Foxx was caught off guard, clearly surprised by the playful jab.

It’s clear that everyone has their own take on the growing connection between Trump and Musk. Will they actually get things done together, or will this billionaire pairing hit a roadblock? Only time will tell.
