Employee Arrested in Deadly Stabbing at Columbus Liquor Store

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a deadly stabbing at a Columbus liquor store has led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man. James Applewhite now faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the death of 28-year-old Quandarius Reynolds.

The incident occurred on Monday night, around 7:30 p.m., at Kick N Chicken, located at 5120 Warm Springs Rd. Authorities say the confrontation started as a verbal argument between Applewhite, an employee at the store, and Reynolds. The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical altercation. In the heat of the moment, Applewhite allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Reynolds.

After leaving the liquor store, Reynolds was found nearby at another business, suffering from a stab wound. He was rushed to Piedmont Columbus Regional, but sadly, he passed away from his injuries.
