A tragic incident in North Lawndale has led to the arrest of a 20-year-old woman in connection with the death of a five-month-old baby boy. The baby, identified as Marquis Johnson Jr., was found unresponsive on November 21 at a home on the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue in Chicago. Authorities quickly responded to the scene and rushed the infant to the hospital, but sadly, his condition did not improve.

A week later, on November 28, Marquis Johnson Jr. passed away. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and determined that the baby had suffered multiple injuries caused by child abuse. His death was officially ruled a homicide, leading police to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
