Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has found himself in legal trouble once again. The 64-year-old was arrested in Texas on a domestic violence charge after his estranged wife, Kate Major, accused him of assault.
The incident began on Friday, February 21, when Major, 42, was at a medical appointment in Harris County. According to the sheriff’s office, she spotted Michael in the parking lot and grew concerned that he was following her. She called 911, worried about her safety.
When deputies arrived, Major told them about an alleged altercation that had happened a few days earlier at their home. She claimed Michael had flipped her out of a chair, and a female deputy reportedly noticed bruises on Major’s body.
Authorities went to Michael’s residence that same day and arrested him without any issues. He’s now facing a charge of Continuous Family Violence and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
This isn’t Michael’s first brush with the law when it comes to domestic issues. Back in 2020, he was arrested in Southampton, New York, for allegedly assaulting Major. Police at the time said he became verbally and physically abusive during an argument.
Michael and Major have had a rocky relationship. They got engaged in 2010, married in 2014, and Major filed for divorce in 2018, also seeking sole custody of their two sons, Landon and Logan. Their relationship has seen plenty of drama, including an incident where Major was accused of throwing a candle at Michael, cutting his arm. Prosecutors in Florida didn’t pursue charges due to lack of evidence.
Before his marriage to Major, Michael was married to Dina Lohan from 1985 to 2007. Together, they share four children: Lindsay, 38, Michael Jr., 37, Aliana, 31, and Dakota, 28.
