Chicago, IL – A horrifying crime has shaken the South Side community after an 82-year-old woman was sexually assaulted during a brutal home invasion Wednesday evening.
According to Chicago police, the attack occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of W. 82nd Street. The suspect, a male, forced his way into the elderly woman’s home through a window before violently striking her in the face, causing her to fall. Authorities say he then proceeded to sexually assault her before fleeing the scene.
First responders arrived quickly, treating the woman on-site before transporting her to Little Company of Mary Hospital. She remains hospitalized for observation but is reportedly in good condition.
