A young person has been arrested in Kansas and is considered a ‘person of interest’ in a double homicide case in Wisconsin. However, police have not yet confirmed if the arrest is directly connected to the case of Donald Mayer and Tatiana Casap.
Donald, 51, Tatiana, and their pet dog were found dead in their home in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Their family and neighbors had not seen or heard from them for two weeks, raising concerns.
Authorities were alerted when Tatiana’s teenage son did not show up at his high school for two weeks. On February 28, Waukesha West High School contacted Donald’s mother, Judith Mayer, about her step-grandson’s absence. Worried, Judith called the police to check on the couple. That night, officers discovered the tragic scene.
Judith was devastated when she received the heartbreaking news. “At first, I thought they were just upset with me,” she said. “But when the police confirmed their deaths, all hope was gone. I lost my son.”
Neighbors also expressed their shock. Kim Vonckx, who lives nearby, initially assumed the couple was on vacation. “Their garbage wasn’t being taken out, and snow wasn’t shoveled,” she noted. “We don’t know what happened. Was it a suicide? A murder? We have no answers.”
Meanwhile, the WaKeeney Police Department in Kansas has confirmed that a juvenile is in custody in relation to a double homicide in Wisconsin. However, officials from both states have not said if this arrest is directly linked to Donald and Tatiana’s case.
Judith remains uncertain about her step-grandson’s whereabouts. She hopes to find him, not just to understand what happened but also to make sure he is safe. “He might be a person of interest,” she admitted. “Even if it’s just to find him and check if he’s okay.”
Authorities are currently investigating the case, and an autopsy will be conducted in the coming days to determine the exact cause of Donald and Tatiana’s deaths.
