Adam Carolla Slams California Leaders as ‘Lunatic Nutjobs’ for Driving State Into the Ground Amid Wildfires

Share news:

Comedian Adam Carolla recently shared his thoughts on California’s wildfires, and it wasn’t pretty. As fires continue to rage across Los Angeles County, Carolla pointed fingers at the politicians he believes are mishandling the crisis.

He didn’t hold back while speaking with Sean Hannity. “California’s environmental policies are ruining the state,” he said, calling out “environmental lunatics” for making things worse. According to Carolla, the current political climate has become a “do the opposite” game, especially when it comes to anything Trump suggests.

“He wanted to clean up the forests, and we rejected that idea,” Carolla explained. “If he suggests it, we go in the other direction.”

As the fires in California continue to cause devastation, Carolla is dealing with the aftermath firsthand. Forced to evacuate on Tuesday, he’s still unsure whether his home made it through. “It’s a coin toss at best,” he said. “I’ve seen so many homes around mine burned to the ground, so if mine survives, it will be nothing short of a miracle.”

The comedian didn’t hold back when criticizing California’s leadership. He took aim at Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, accusing them of ignoring real issues, like fire prevention. Bass, in particular, has been under fire for leaving the city to travel to Ghana while fires were ravaging her city. Critics also blame her for cutting the L.A. Fire Department’s budget last year.

“It’s not just a problem from three years ago,” Carolla said, pointing to the recent Malibu fire. “This is an ongoing issue. Newsom wants to blame it all on climate change, but the real problem is their inaction.”

Carolla warns that if these political leaders don’t step up, they might lose their grip on once-safe, liberal districts like Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and Santa Monica.

“These cities are blue through and through,” he said. “They’ve supported these leaders, voted for them, raised money for them, but now they’ve lost everything because of them. It’s time to get it together.”

Upon her return from Ghana, Bass faced tough questions about fire prevention, but had little to offer in terms of answers. Carolla believes the issue lies in the fact that many of these leaders are not used to answering tough questions, especially when the media often shields them from criticism.

“They get angry when asked anything challenging,” Carolla said. “They’re used to the media being on their side, so when a tough question is asked, they have no idea how to respond.”

It’s clear Carolla feels frustrated, and rightfully so. As wildfires continue to devastate California, many are asking: when will the leaders who promised change actually step up and make a difference?
