A tragic plane crash at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona has left one person dead and four others injured. The accident happened on February 10, 2025, when a Bombardier Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet.
According to the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), the Learjet’s left main landing gear failed upon landing, causing it to lose control. The aircraft had arrived from Austin, Texas, and the accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. local time on Runway 21.
During an afternoon press briefing, Scottsdale officials confirmed that one person died on impact. Emergency crews worked into the evening to recover the body. Two people were critically injured and rushed to local trauma centers, while another was taken to a hospital with less severe injuries. A fourth person declined medical treatment at the scene.
Jet Pros, LLC, the company that operated the Gulfstream 200, stated that no one was on board their aircraft at the time of the collision. However, the parked jet suffered significant external damage. The company expressed condolences to the victims’ families and thanked emergency responders for their quick actions.
Following the crash, all flights at Scottsdale Airport were temporarily suspended. The airport reopened approximately six hours later after authorities secured the area and ensured safety measures were in place.
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky issued a statement offering condolences to those affected by the accident. She also expressed gratitude to first responders for their swift response and efforts in managing the situation.
The Scottsdale Fire Department and Police Department, along with other emergency agencies, remained on site into the evening. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has now taken over the investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, and the investigation is ongoing. Scottsdale officials continue to support those impacted by this tragic event and urge anyone with information to come forward.
