In Anchorage, Alaska, DeAnthony Harris has been sentenced to 80 years in prison, with 20 years suspended, for his involvement in the 2016 armed robbery and murders of Christopher and Danielle Brooks. The tragic incident, which unfolded in the presence of the couple’s 5-year-old son, who later remarked that “ninjas killed my parents,” has culminated in lengthy sentences for all involved.
The Alaska Department of Law reported that the crime was orchestrated by Savon Wiley, who intended to rob Christopher Brooks under the pretext of buying marijuana on Christmas Eve of 2016. Wiley, along with accomplices Lamarkus Mann, Jaylyn Franklin, and Harris, entered the Brooks’ home armed and opened fire, leading to the couple’s death.
Danielle Brooks was fatally shot inside the home, while Christopher Brooks died attempting to escape. Following the incident, Harris, along with his co-defendants, faced severe legal repercussions. Jaylyn Franklin, who entered a plea agreement in 2019, received a 100-year sentence with 20 years suspended. Lamarkus Mann was sentenced in 2020 to 109 years, and Savon Wiley received a 76-year sentence with 20 years suspended.
Upon completing his prison term, Harris will also serve 10 years of probation. This case has deeply affected the community and highlights the severe consequences of violent crimes.
