Joseph Ferlazzo, 41, and his wife, Emily Ferlazzo, 22, were traveling in a converted bus, planning to celebrate their anniversary in Bolton, Vermont. On October 18, 2021, after an argument, Joseph allegedly shot Emily twice in the head with a Glock handgun inside the bus. He then dismembered her body using a handsaw and placed the remains in garbage bags.

Emily’s family reported her missing when Joseph returned without her, claiming she had disappeared after a walk. Vermont State Police located the bus and, upon searching, found Emily’s remains. Joseph was arrested and confessed to the crime during an interview with detectives.
