Share news:

Four men from New York have been arrested in connection with a violent robbery that took place in an Englewood parking garage last year. The incident, which happened on August 1, 2024, left a 25-year-old man seriously injured after he was shot in the back while trying to escape from a group of armed attackers.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the victim was inside the Grand Avenue parking garage when he was suddenly approached by a group of men he didn’t know. Some of them were wearing masks and carrying guns. As he tried to run for safety, one of the attackers fired an AK-47 assault rifle, hitting him in the back. After that, the group robbed him and quickly fled the scene.

Police officers found the wounded man and rushed him to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was treated for serious injuries. Fortunately, he survived the attack.

Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Englewood Police Department worked together to track down the suspects. They identified four men from Queens, New York: 26-year-old Denzil Bailey, 31-year-old Iquwann Quick, 34-year-old Dwight Stephenson, and 27-year-old Osarumwense Uzamere.

Bailey was the first to be arrested on January 16. He was charged with several serious crimes, including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, and multiple weapons offenses. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where he is being held until his first court appearance.

The other three suspects remained on the run until this past Tuesday. That’s when officers from the FBI, NYPD, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Englewood Police Department finally caught up with them in New York City. They were arrested and charged with the same crimes as Bailey.
