Authorities in Atlanta are reaching out to the public for help in finding two sisters who have been missing for more than a month. Zaniyah Dix, 15, and her younger sister, 13-year-old Makiyah Dix, disappeared on December 11, 2024, and there’s growing concern for their safety.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is leading the effort to locate the sisters, and officials believe they might still be somewhere in the metro Atlanta area. However, their exact whereabouts remain a mystery.
Zaniyah is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds. She has brown eyes and her hair is dyed red. Makiyah is 5 feet tall and weighs around 100 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair.
To expand the search, their pictures are now being shared on the Ring Neighbors app, which connects people in local communities.
Right now, investigators are still trying to piece together where the sisters might be or who they might be with. They haven’t been able to narrow down a specific area or identify anyone they may be staying with.
If you think you’ve seen Zaniyah or Makiyah, or if you have any information about their disappearance, you’re urged to speak up. You can call the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 or get in touch with the East Point Police Department at (404) 761-2177.
Every little bit of information can make a big difference in reuniting these sisters with their family.
