In a major breakthrough, authorities have arrested three men accused of carrying out a string of high-end home burglaries in the affluent neighborhoods of Muttontown and Old Westbury late last year.
The suspects—David Fernando Moreno Hernandez, Juan Pablo Orjuela-Saavedra, and Ivan Stewar Ramirez-Villalobos—are all residents of New Jersey and now face second-degree burglary charges. Law enforcement officials say the arrests were the result of a coordinated effort involving Nassau County Police, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
According to detectives, the suspects targeted unoccupied homes, breaking in through rear windows and sliding glass doors at night. Once inside, they allegedly ransacked bedrooms, stealing a fortune in valuables—including jewelry, diamonds, gold, designer handbags, safes, and family heirlooms. Authorities estimate the stolen goods amount to over $250,000.
The investigation, which lasted nearly three months, ultimately led to their capture. Two of the suspects are currently being held at Nassau County Police Headquarters in Mineola, awaiting their court appearances. The third suspect remains in New Jersey and is pending extradition.
While police have not yet disclosed the exact locations of the burglarized homes, the arrests have brought some relief to residents in these high-profile communities. Investigators are continuing their probe, and authorities urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
This case highlights the growing concern over organized burglary rings targeting luxury homes. With the suspects now in custody, law enforcement hopes this sends a clear message that such crimes will not go unpunished.
