Bollywood Star’s Sister Accused of Deadly Arson in Queens: A Heartbreaking Tale of Love and Tragedy

Share news:

A shocking story has emerged from Queens, New York, where a woman has been accused of setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s garage, leading to a tragic loss of life. Aliya Fakhri, 43, faces serious charges after allegedly starting a blaze that killed her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs, a 35-year-old father of three, and another woman, Anastasia Ettienne, 33.

But there’s an unexpected twist to the story. Aliya is reportedly the sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, known for her roles in Indian films and her appearance in the 2015 action-comedy hit “Spy.” According to media reports, the sisters have not been in touch for over two decades, and Nargis has not commented on the incident.

The tragic event unfolded last month in Jamaica, Queens. Prosecutors say Aliya showed up at the detached garage where Edward and Anastasia were sleeping early in the morning, around 6:20 a.m. Witnesses claim Aliya was furious and shouted, “You’re all going to die today,” before allegedly setting the garage on fire.

The flames quickly engulfed the structure. Anastasia reportedly tried to rescue Edward, rushing upstairs to wake him, but both were trapped by the fire and unable to escape. The Queens District Attorney, Dan Katz, revealed that the victims died from smoke inhalation and severe burns.

The heartbreak extends beyond the victims. Edward, a devoted father, leaves behind three children—a pair of 11-year-old twins and a 9-year-old son. His grieving mother shared the devastating impact the tragedy has had on their family.

Aliya and Edward had broken up about a year ago, and prosecutors believe her anger over him refusing to reconcile may have fueled her actions. She now faces multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and two counts of arson. If convicted, Aliya could spend the rest of her life in prison.

Currently, Aliya has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody after being remanded in court. Her next court appearance is set for December 9.

The incident has left the local community in shock, with many struggling to comprehend how a relationship gone wrong could result in such a horrifying tragedy.
