Waterford, CT – A youth basketball game took a violent turn on Sunday when a fight broke out in the stands, leading to the arrest of three men, including two coaches.
According to police, officers were called to Clark Lane Middle School around 3 p.m. after reports of a disturbance at a fifth-grade basketball game. Authorities said the three men confronted a spectator, escalating into a physical altercation before bystanders managed to intervene.
The chaos left one man injured, along with several bystanders and even a child, police reported.
Investigators reviewed witness statements and video footage before arresting the three men. Each was charged with third-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.
The suspects were released on a $5,000 bond and are set to appear in court on March 14.
