Los Angeles, CA – In a shocking act of violence, two teenage bicyclists have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the brutal beating of a man on a West Los Angeles street. The attack, which was captured on video and circulated on social media, has sparked widespread outrage and concerns over public safety.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and McCarthy Vista. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), a mob of around 25 teenage boys, aged 16 to 18, assaulted the victim after he confronted them for allegedly vandalizing his car. The violent attack saw the teens punching and kicking the man while he lay on the ground, unable to defend himself.
Witness Dimitri Kermani described the scene as “extremely violent,” stating, “They didn’t care about his life. They were kicking him in the head, in the body—no sympathy whatsoever.”
By the time officers arrived, the attackers had fled southbound on Carrillo Drive, as bystanders attempted to intervene.
The victim, a 27-year-old man, sustained injuries to his head and face but declined to be transported to the hospital. Speaking to KCAL News, his aunt confirmed that he is still recovering from the traumatic assault.
LAPD detectives have since arrested two of the suspects, who now face charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Their identities have not been released due to their age. Authorities are continuing to investigate and are working to identify additional suspects.
Local officials, including Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, have condemned the attack, emphasizing that “violence has no place in our neighborhoods, and those responsible must be held accountable.”
Law enforcement urges anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses can contact LAPD Detective Carlos at (213) 473-0510 or email [email protected]. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
