The Newark Police Department is reaching out to the public for help in identifying a man accused of assaulting a New Jersey Transit bus driver. The incident took place late in the morning on November 27, around 11:30 a.m.
According to authorities, the situation began when the bus driver refused to let the man board at an unauthorized stop. Upset, the man reportedly caught up with the bus at the next stop. Once on board, he exchanged heated words with the driver before slapping her in the face.
The suspect is described as a Black man with striking red and black hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket, black pants, a black hat, and a gray hoodie.
