A tragic incident in El Cajon, California, unfolded when police found the body of a missing woman inside the trunk of her son’s car during a traffic stop. The case is now being investigated as a homicide.
The events began when the brother of 24-year-old Richard Leyva went to check on their mother at a Motel 6 in El Cajon, a city near San Diego. Their mother, 51-year-old Jamison Webster, had been visiting Leyva. However, instead of finding her safe, the brother discovered her lifeless body inside the trunk of a black Hyundai Sonata.
A Violent Escape Attempt
After making the shocking discovery, the brother immediately called the police. When officers arrived, an argument broke out between Leyva and his brother. Authorities say Leyva then jumped into the Hyundai and drove off, hitting his brother in the process. Fortunately, the brother was not injured.
Police quickly attempted to stop Leyva, but he refused to pull over. A high-speed chase began, which ended when he crashed into two other vehicles. Officers then used a Taser to subdue and arrest him. None of the other drivers involved in the crash were injured.
Ongoing Investigation
After the arrest, authorities confirmed that the body in the trunk belonged to Jamison Webster. Police have not yet revealed the cause of her death or a possible motive, but they are treating the case as a homicide.
Leyva has been booked into San Diego County Jail on charges of homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, and evading the police. Detectives are continuing their investigation and are expected to release more details as the case develops.
This shocking case has left the local community in disbelief, as authorities work to determine what led to this tragic event.
