Ryan Reynolds is bringing some serious holiday spirit and star power to his annual campaign for the SickKids Foundation! The 48-year-old actor shared a playful video on social media on Thursday, Dec. 12, to raise funds for the Canadian organization, which supports The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, have pledged to match donations up to $500,000 made at SickKidsSweaterLove.ca before midnight on Dec. 24.
In the video, Reynolds dons his iconic Deadpool suit and teams up with Kidpool, hilariously portrayed by his 8-year-old daughter, Inez. The duo is on a mission to make the holidays brighter, delivering toys from their sleigh. But, as usual with Deadpool, things take a comedic turn.
“Benevolence is thirsty work,” Deadpool quips, tossing a sack of toys. When Kidpool asks where they’re headed next, Deadpool casually says they’re off to “eliminate sick kids.” Naturally, Kidpool is horrified. “Oh, dude, that’s so messed up,” she responds. Realizing the misunderstanding, Deadpool quickly clarifies, “We’re eliminating the sickness by encouraging people to donate.”
Knowing they need backup for their R-rated antics, the pair gets an unexpected visitor: Lynda Carter, the legendary Wonder Woman actress. She arrives with a dramatic boom, asking, “Did someone call for help?” Deadpool and Kidpool bicker over her arrival before explaining their plan to raise money for SickKids. Carter, ready to join the cause, asks what she can do to help.
Deadpool requests her signature spin transformation, and Carter obliges—but instead of appearing in her classic Wonder Woman costume, she ends up in an oversized, hilariously ugly Christmas sweater. The moment leaves the trio stunned before Deadpool and Kidpool simultaneously shout, “What the f—!”
Carter, confused, looks down at her outfit and asks, “Who did this?” Deadpool blames DC lawyers, hinting at the rivalry between Marvel and DC. As Kidpool calls the sweater “ugly as f—,” Deadpool takes another jab, blaming whoever swapped the outfit for also mishandling Henry Cavill and “that other Batman.”
The video is classic Ryan Reynolds: irreverent, hilarious, and packed with heart. And while the laughs are plenty, the message is clear—supporting SickKids can make a real difference this holiday season.
