Disturbing! Georgia Man Charged in Dark Web Trafficking Case

Share news:

A Georgia man, Kelly Garrett Ivey, is facing more charges after authorities discovered additional victims in a disturbing human trafficking case. Ivey, who has been in Jasper County jail since 2023, was recently indicted on new charges that reveal shocking details about his alleged crimes.

According to the latest indictment, Ivey is accused of attempting to traffic a teenager through the dark web. Prosecutors say he was looking for someone to kidnap and assault the victim. He allegedly provided the victim’s photo, home address, vehicle details, and church information to a person he knew as “Leonardo.” Reports state that Ivey even offered gas money and requested that the assault be recorded and sent to him. He allegedly asked if the victim could also be sold for sex trafficking.

The new indictment from Jasper County includes charges of first-degree cruelty to children, two counts of human trafficking for sexual servitude, and seven counts of attempting to commit a felony.

In addition, a separate indictment in Monroe County brings more charges against Ivey. These include one count of computer pornography, three counts of attempting to commit a felony, one count of obscene internet contact with a child, and 11 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Investigators believe there are multiple victims involved.

Court documents reveal that Ivey communicated with an Instagram user named “Soccermad00.” He allegedly provided personal details about another victim, a minor under 18, including a photo and address. He even offered to buy a plane ticket for “Soccermad00” to travel to Macon, Georgia, to harm the child.

The case first gained attention in 2023 when Atlanta News First interviewed the mother of one of the victims. She recalled law enforcement arriving at her home in June 2023, informing her that her daughter’s personal details had been posted on a dark web site called “Slave Bay.” The post reportedly remained online for four days and advertised the victim for kidnapping and assault.

The victim’s mother expressed her shock, saying she had always worried about safety while traveling but never imagined something like this could happen so close to home.

Investigators later identified Ivey as the suspect. The victim’s mother revealed that her family knew Ivey from church and was even connected with him on Facebook. Authorities believe he may have used Facebook to gather the victim’s information and photo for his illegal activities.

Ivey remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
