A tragic story unfolded in Montgomery County, Maryland, where a man has been charged in connection with a deadly crash that happened earlier this year.
Police say 29-year-old Isaac Tomas Pellegrino from Laytonsville is facing serious charges after a crash that killed 25-year-old Yanique Tyshay Jones back in July.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, the incident happened on July 20, 2024, along Goshen Road.
Pellegrino was reportedly driving way over the speed limit—hitting speeds of up to 69 mph in a 35 mph zone.
To make matters worse, his blood alcohol content was measured at 0.19, more than double the legal limit of 0.08.
The crash was devastating. Emergency crews had to work quickly to free Jones from her car, and she was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, she didn’t survive.
Months later, on December 8, police arrested Pellegrino. He has been charged with homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. For now, he’s out on bond while waiting for his trial.
This heartbreaking case serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of drunk driving. It only takes one reckless decision to change lives forever.
