Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are leading a new panel to help make the U.S. government more efficient.
The panel’s goal is to cut down on the size of the federal workforce, reduce regulations, and lower government spending.
They want to bring in “high-IQ” workers who are passionate about small government and are ready to put in long hours on tough, behind-the-scenes work.
This plan has caught a lot of attention, especially because Musk and Trump have both made bold promises about changing the way the U.S. government operates.
On social media, Ramaswamy mentioned that they’ll be holding weekly livestreams to share updates about the panel’s work, starting soon.
In a recent speech, Trump talked about how the panel will regularly release reports about what they’re doing, with a big final report set for July 4, 2026.
Ramaswamy has said that too many government agencies, like the Food and Drug Administration and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, have too much red tape, which slows things down and costs taxpayers more money.
It’s still unclear whether the panel will officially be part of the government or if it will just be an advisory group. Either way, any major changes, especially to the budget, would need approval from Congress.
