Ex-Husband’s Dark Obsession: Stalking, Hidden Cameras, and Terrifying Threats Unfold in Rogers

Police in Rogers have arrested a 50-year-old man from Bella Vista, Arkansas, after accusations of stalking, placing hidden cameras in his ex-wife’s home, tracking her vehicle, and sending threatening messages.

David Wayne Mullican Jr. faces several charges, including stalking, burglary, identity fraud, and making terroristic threats, all felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges for harassment, distributing private images without consent, computer trespass, and criminal trespass.

According to court records, Mullican has not yet appeared in Benton County Circuit Court. He was released from Benton County Detention Center on December 19 after posting a $30,000 bond.

The arrest came after Kristi Mullican, his ex-wife, reported alarming behavior. She told police that since their divorce in 2018, David had been harassing and stalking her. Things escalated earlier this month when she picked up a friend from the airport on December 12. She noticed that David seemed to know her every move, even texting her about what she and her friend were talking about and wearing. The next day, he sent more messages, describing a conversation she had in her living room.

Frightened for her safety, Kristi contacted the police. She said she had set up her own cameras and captured footage of David crawling around her yard, coming to her door, and even entering her garage. Kristi explained that David didn’t have a key to her home but found ways to break in through a kitchen window or by using the garage door opener. Neighbors also spotted his pickup truck parked nearby and shared photos of it with Kristi.

Kristi further revealed to the police that David had threatened her in vile ways, including saying he would rape her and involve others in doing so. She even learned from someone that David had allegedly paid them to follow her.

The situation was even more invasive than she first realized. Kristi claimed that David had previously admitted to installing hidden cameras in her home and attaching an AirTag tracker to her car. She found cameras disguised as smoke detectors and electrical outlets and suspected he was using GPS trackers and a keystroke tracker on her laptop. Kristi also noticed changes in her bank accounts, suggesting he might have tampered with her finances.

Over time, Kristi said she had received around 30 degrading and harassing messages from David, sent from three different phone numbers. While she had filed charges against him in the past, she dropped them out of fear of retaliation.

A judge has now ordered David Mullican to have no contact with Kristi, providing her some relief as the legal process unfolds. This troubling case serves as a reminder of the importance of taking swift action against stalking and harassment.
