Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and CEO of Tesla, has spoken out about the explosion that occurred at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, which tragically killed one person and injured several others. And he’s got a startling claim: he believes it was an intentional terrorist attack.
The explosion, which took place in the valet area of the hotel, was captured by guests on video. Initially, some people speculated that the incident might be linked to Musk’s controversial ties with President-elect Donald Trump. But Musk says it wasn’t random—it was planned.
In a post on his X platform, Musk shared details, stating, “The explosion was caused by a bomb or large fireworks in the bed of a rented Cybertruck. It’s completely unrelated to the vehicle itself. All the vehicle’s systems were working perfectly before the explosion.”
Law enforcement is investigating the blast, and officials believe it was likely intentional. Musk also pointed out that authorities are looking into whether the explosion might be connected to another incident, a vehicle-ramming attack in New Orleans carried out by a Texas man with an ISIS flag.
What’s particularly interesting, Musk believes, is how the Cybertruck held up during the blast. He went on to boast about the Tesla’s strength, claiming that the Cybertruck’s stainless steel armor helped contain the explosion. According to Musk, it actually directed the blast upwards, minimizing damage. “They picked the wrong vehicle for a car bomb,” he said. “The Cybertruck actually kept the explosion from causing even more destruction.”
In the end, thanks to the Cybertruck’s tough design, even the hotel’s glass doors remained intact. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons!
