Family Feud Turns Violent: Georgia Paving Rivals Caught in Bizarre Sopranos-Style Attack

Share news:

A family in Georgia, known for running paving companies across the state, is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly attacking workers from a rival business. The attack happened on December 19 in Monroe County, on Estes Road, right near the Buckland family’s property. According to police, the family felt “disrespected” when they saw the rival workers, from EH Paving, doing a job at a neighbor’s house. What followed was something straight out of a crime drama, authorities said.

Sheriff Brad Freeman described the incident as being “like something out of The Sopranos.” The Buckland family, reportedly armed with baseball bats, sticks, and even a “cowboy-style pistol,” confronted and attacked the paving crew. The chaos led to injuries for three workers from EH Paving, including the owner’s two sons and a nephew. The injuries were minor but alarming — with bruises, bumps, and one worker feeling so unwell he had to be taken to the hospital.

Police say six members of the Buckland family were involved. Leading the group was 77-year-old Mark Buckland Sr., who allegedly fired a “long cowboy-style gun” into the woods to intimidate the workers. His son, Mark Buckland Jr., 58, is said to have incited the violence. Other family members involved reportedly included another son, Willy Buckland Sr., 50, along with his son Willy Jr., 22, and two other relatives, Luke Buckland, 28, and James Small, 21, who is Mark Sr.’s son-in-law.

The EH Paving crew told the media that this wasn’t the first time the Bucklands had caused trouble. According to them, the family had been following them to job sites and starting fights for a while. This time, though, things escalated dramatically.

After the incident, all six Bucklands were arrested but later released on bond. The charges vary for each member. Mark Buckland Sr. faces charges of aiming a gun at someone, criminal trespass, and tampering with evidence. Mark Jr. is charged with inciting a riot, criminal trespass, and simple battery. Willy Sr. is accused of aggravated assault and criminal trespass, while the others face charges of simple battery and criminal trespass.

As the legal process unfolds, this shocking incident has left the local community shaken, raising concerns about how far business rivalries can go.
