Fatal Shooting on Chicago’s South Side: Man Killed in Broad Daylight

A 31-year-old man tragically lost his life in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Auburn Gresham, a neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. on West 81st Street, near the 1600 block, according to Chicago police. The man was standing on the sidewalk when someone suddenly began shooting.

He was hit in the neck and rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Sadly, he couldn’t be saved and was pronounced dead shortly after, as confirmed by both police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name, and no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing as police work to find answers.
