Father’s Darkest Hour: Unthinkable Tragedy Shocks Sacramento Neighborhood

Share news:

In Sacramento County, California, a shocking and heartbreaking incident unfolded on December 20, leaving a community shaken. A 28-year-old father is behind bars after authorities discovered a gruesome crime involving his 1-year-old son.

Deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on Versailles Way after receiving a report of a family disturbance. When they arrived, a woman outside the house told them her husband, Andrey Demskiy, had attacked her and her mother during an argument. The mother-in-law was taken to the hospital with injuries, but thankfully, they weren’t life-threatening.

When deputies tried to speak with Demskiy, he wouldn’t cooperate or come out. At one point, authorities learned that he might have harmed his son, Micah. Realizing the situation could be even more serious, they forced their way into the home. Inside a bedroom, they found Demskiy resisting arrest. What they discovered next was described as one of the most horrifying scenes deputies had ever encountered—the severed head of little Micah.

According to investigators, it started as a domestic dispute between Demskiy, his wife, and her mother. After the women left the house to wait for deputies, Demskiy reportedly committed the unthinkable. Using a knife, he allegedly beheaded his son.

Sgt. Amar Gandhi from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said this was one of the most disturbing cases he’s ever worked on. Even seasoned deputies were visibly shaken by what they saw.

Demskiy was arrested and taken to the Sacramento County Jail, where he is being held without bail. He faces several serious charges, including murder, assault causing great bodily injury, and causing the death of a child under 8 years old.

On December 24, Demskiy appeared in court for the first time. Witnesses said he had a smile on his face, which only added to the chilling nature of this case. He was dressed in blue jail clothing, indicating he is in a psychiatric treatment area. His next court date is scheduled for March 13.

This tragic incident has left many in the community heartbroken, struggling to understand how something so horrifying could happen.
