Florida Man’s Shocking Christmas Act of Cruelty Leaves Dog Fighting for Recovery

In Kissimmee, Florida, a shocking incident was caught on a home security camera, leading to the arrest of a man for animal abuse. On December 26, Osceola County deputies responded to a disturbing report at the Jameson Loop Apartments. The apartment management shared a video that showed a heartbreaking act of cruelty involving a dog.

The video revealed 28-year-old Marco Zuluaga, from Coral Springs, leaving an apartment with his dog, Lily, who was dressed in a red Christmas outfit. What started as a seemingly normal moment quickly turned horrifying. Off-camera, Zuluaga slammed Lily into a railing. Moments later, he walked back into view and violently threw her onto the concrete ground. The force of his actions was so severe that Zuluaga even injured his own shoulder.

Sheriff Marcos Lopez expressed disbelief and anger, saying, “It’s a miracle he didn’t kill this dog.” According to deputies, Zuluaga admitted he had even thought about throwing Lily from the third floor. When questioned, he claimed his cruel behavior was because Lily had an accident on the rug.

Animal Control stepped in and took Lily to a veterinarian. The poor dog was found with a dilated pupil in her left eye and deep tissue bruising on her underbelly, clear signs of trauma. Thankfully, despite her injuries, Lily is expected to recover fully.

Zuluaga, who was visiting a family member at the apartment complex, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail. Sheriff Lopez emphasized that the authorities did everything they could within the law. “If we could have charged him with anything else, trust me, we would have,” he said.

The good news is that Lily will never have to endure such cruelty again. Zuluaga has been ordered not to have any pets in his possession, and Lily is now in the care of someone who plans to adopt her. Sheriff Lopez reassured everyone that Lily will never return to “that monster.”
