In a horrifying incident in Osceola County, Florida, a mother was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and suspected homicide following the death of her 14-year-old daughter. Kelsie Glover, 33, was taken into custody after deputies responded to a distress call at her home in Poinciana, where they found her chasing witnesses with a hammer.
Authorities said witnesses reported seeing Glover forcibly submerge her daughter Giselle’s head under water in a bathtub until she became unresponsive. The situation escalated when Glover allegedly began to attack the witnesses with a hammer as they attempted to intervene.
Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez detailed the events during a press conference, indicating that deputies attempted life-saving measures on the unresponsive teen. Despite their efforts, Giselle was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of death is pending a medical examiner’s review, with additional charges against Glover anticipated.
During her arrest, Glover displayed a disturbing demeanor, smirking at reporters as deputies escorted her from the scene. Sheriff Lopez described the day’s events as “dark” and expressed the department’s commitment to seeking justice for Giselle.
At the time of the incident, four individuals were present in the home: Glover, her daughter, another child, and a roommate. Giselle’s father was not at home but has been informed of the tragic event. According to Sheriff Lopez, there was no prior record of domestic violence between Glover and her daughter, though Glover had a previous altercation involving her husband.
The investigation into the circumstances leading up to Giselle’s death continues, with Glover reportedly being uncooperative with the authorities. Sheriff Lopez also noted that there was no known history of mental illness in Glover’s records. The community and the sheriff’s office are now focused on uncovering the details of this tragic case and ensuring appropriate legal measures are taken.
