HOUSTON, Texas – A troubling story has emerged from Harris County, where a 55-year-old woman is facing serious charges after allegedly locking a 7-year-old girl in a cage near a Christmas tree.
Court records reveal that Rose Anderson, the girl’s sole caretaker, was charged on December 22 with unlawful restraint of a child under 17 and injury to a child. Prosecutors say the disturbing incident happened around December 13. Anderson is accused of tying the girl with zip ties, taping her mouth shut with duct tape, and placing her in a dog crate.
The allegations don’t stop there. Anderson reportedly kicked the girl and deprived her of basic needs like food, water, and access to a bathroom. Left alone for hours, the little girl ended up wetting herself because she couldn’t leave the cage.
According to court documents, Anderson allegedly did this as punishment for the girl’s behavior at school.
After her arrest, Anderson was released on bond. The case has drawn attention for the shocking nature of the accusations and the harsh treatment the young girl endured.
This heartbreaking situation highlights the importance of watching for signs of abuse and stepping in when a child may be in danger. It’s a stark reminder that children need care, understanding, and support—not cruelty or violence.
