A good deed took an unexpected turn when a robbery unfolded in broad daylight in southwest Houston. Now, the Houston Police Department is asking for help to identify a teenage suspect involved in a purse-snatching incident.
It all started on the morning of February 6, outside a convenience store. A woman was pumping gas on the 4900 block of W. Orem Drive around 9:20 a.m. when a young man walked up to her. He asked if she could give him a ride to a nearby location. Wanting to help, she agreed and let him into her car.
Things seemed normal as they drove, but when they reached the 13800 block of W. Orem Drive, the story took a sudden turn. The teen thanked the woman for the ride, but then grabbed her purse and bolted from the car.
The police are now looking for the suspect, who is described as being in his early to mid-teens. He was last seen wearing a white jacket and khaki pants.
