In Florence, Mississippi, a dramatic police chase unfolded in Rankin County, ending with a man in custody.
It all started when officers from the Florence Police Department tried to pull over a car for equipment violations. According to Florence Police Chief Brad Burns, things took a wild turn when the driver refused to cooperate. Instead of stepping out of the vehicle as requested, the man hit the gas and sped away, triggering a pursuit.
The chase, which stretched along Highway 49 South near Old Highway 49, came to a close thanks to teamwork between Florence Police and officers from Richland. They managed to stop the car and arrest the suspect without any trouble or injuries.
After the arrest, officers found a surprising stash in the man’s possession—three firearms and a large amount of THC wax, a concentrated form of cannabis.
The case is now in the hands of law enforcement, with charges expected to follow. The swift collaboration between Florence and Richland police ensured the situation ended safely for everyone involved.
