A 30-year-old man from Minot is facing multiple charges after leading police on a wild chase through the city on Saturday evening, which ended with a crash and a car stuck in a snowbank.
It all started around 6:30 p.m. when officers tried to stop a sedan in the 1800 block of South Broadway. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped off, heading north. Given the slick and icy road conditions, the police decided to call off the chase to avoid any danger to others.
But the story didn’t end there. The driver continued speeding and ended up crashing into a compact SUV in the 200 block of 11th Avenue NW. Thankfully, the people inside the SUV weren’t hurt, but their vehicle did get damaged.
After the crash, the driver didn’t stick around. He kept going, this time heading west and then into northeast Minot. The chase came to an end when the sedan got stuck in a snowbank. At that point, officers were able to arrest the driver without any trouble.
The man was taken to the Ward County Jail, and now he’s facing a list of charges for his actions. Luckily, no one was injured in the chaotic series of events, but it left quite a scene in Minot.
