MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — On Tuesday night, police rushed to a shooting at the Shelton Apartments on W Glenhaven Drive.

Authorities say 32-year-old Jacob Price was shot and killed in the parking lot after getting into a fight with two others.

“I heard a gunshot last night, right over there while we were in bed,” said Brian Miles, a resident at the apartments. “It was really loud, like it was right outside my window.”

Miles, who’s lived at the complex for nearly a year, says shootings in the area are all too common.

“All they do is come through here and shoot, like they don’t care,” Miles added.

In his first six months living there, Miles says his car was shot at, with bullets hitting all over it. His neighbor’s car was also shot at.

When he heard the gunfire, Miles’ first instinct was to duck for safety.

The next morning, a worker was cleaning up the blood at the crime scene in the parking lot with bleach and water.

“It’s a scary feeling, always having to worry about your safety,” Miles said. “What happened last night isn’t anything new around here.”

He’s worried about the danger in the area and says it feels like a place where shootings happen too often. “I want to move out of here, but I don’t know where to go,” Miles said.

Investigators are still searching for the person responsible. If anyone has information, they’re asked to contact the Midwest City Police Department.
