Khalid is speaking out to clear up some rumors from a former partner who recently made accusations about him. A few days after Khalid came out as gay on social media, he posted a video addressing claims made by an ex. These claims involved drugs and sex workers, which Khalid strongly denies.
In his video, Khalid said, “I just wanted to clear things up and put this behind me. I don’t really have to explain, but I think it’s important to share my side.” He went on to address the accusations, saying, “First off, the whole ‘pink cocaine’ thing. I’ve never done cocaine. I don’t hang out in those kinds of situations. I smoke weed and drink sometimes, but never cocaine.”
He also responded to the claim that he paid for sex, saying, “I’ve never paid for sex, and I’ve never paid anyone to be with me or date me.”
The person making these accusations is someone Khalid dated “four to five years ago.” He mentioned that the last time he talked to this person was about four years ago, and he doesn’t understand why they’re saying these things now. Khalid added, “Mental health is real, but I haven’t talked to or seen this guy in years.”
Khalid explained that seeing comments about him being a manipulative or abusive person really hurt. “It’s the other way around,” he said, and that’s what’s painful for him.
Khalid also said he just wants this to be over, just like everyone else. He didn’t name the ex who made these claims, but a musician named Hugo Almonte posted accusations on social media, including a selfie with Khalid, which he later deleted.
Almonte said his posts were his way of speaking out about how he felt silenced by Khalid after their breakup. He also mentioned he didn’t intend to “out” Khalid, as Khalid had already been open about his sexuality within the Los Angeles community.
On Friday, Khalid confirmed he’s part of the LGBTQ+ community with a simple post on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “🏳️🌈!!! there yall go. next topic please lol.” He later added, “I am! And that’s okay,” replying to a fan’s comment. He also explained that he was outed but added, “It ain’t nobody’s business, but I’m okay with me 🖤 love y’all.”
